A series of TV ads by Fabulous Bingo have been banned by the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) for linking sexual attractiveness to gambling success.
The ads featured women in a cafe signing up to online bingo site Fabulous Bingo, transforming their drab look into something more glitzy in the process.
"Because the ad featured such an overt transformation from dowdy to glamorous through playing the branded bingo game there was an implication that playing the branded bingo game could result in enhanced attractiveness and an improvement in self-image," said the ASA, according to a report in the Guardian.
